Actor-Director Jude Anthany Joseph has apologised to Actor Antony Varghese, popularly known by his screen name Pepe, for his recent remarks targetting the latter. Jude said that he feels guilty for using harsh words without realising the truth.
Jude's apology came hours after Pepe dismissed these allegations and stated that "the remark that I took, money in advance from him and used it for my sister’s marriage is wrong." Varghese also shared a screenshot of a bank statement to clarify that he paid back the amount --Rs 10 lakh received as advance to act in a movie-- prior to his sister's marriage.

Earlier, Jude during an interview alleged that Pepe backed away from a project after accepting an advance payment from the film producer. He added that many such figures are prevailing in Malayalam Cinema.
He alleged that Pepe accepted Rs 10 lakh from producer Aravind and backed away from the project 18 days before the shooting commenced. He claimed that Pepe used the amount for his sister's marriage. However, Pepe came out against this remark and outrightly dismissed it.
Following these developments, Jude stated that he made a mistake and assumed that Pepe used the money for the marriage. He also asked for forgiveness from his sister and her family. " I witnessed the film producer and his wife crying," he cited as the reason why he named him.
