Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan
The wedding of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan has been in the headlines from Thursday. A photo of the wedding’s lunch menu which surfaced on social media platforms surprised all.
Vegetarian delicacies from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were served for the wedding feast.
Biriyani made of Kerala’s jackfruit and Elaneer Payasam made of tender coconut were the major attractions from Kerala cuisine.
Paneer pattani curry, paruppu curry (moong dal curry), aviyal(kerala vegetable curry), Mor Kozhambu (buttermilk based curry like ‘Kalan’ in Kerala), (M)icken Chettinad curry (mock meat curry), urulai kara masala (potato curry), Vazhakkai Varuval (raw banana fry), Chena Kezhangu Varuval (yam fry), Chepa Kezhangu Puli Kozhangu (stew with shallots, fried berries and tomatoes), Kalan Milagu Varuval (mushroom with shallots, ginger, curry leaves and peppercorn), carrot and beans poriyal (French beans and carrot fry) and curd rice are some of the dishes.
It is learnt that the couple handpicked the dishes marking the combination of food from the two states.
Nayanthara and Vignesh reportedly dated for nearly seven years before tying the knot.
A top star, Nayanthara has worked across Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam industries in films such as ‘Billa’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Dora’, ‘Viswasam’ and ‘Puthiya Niyamam’. Vignesh Shivan is best known for directing Tamil movies ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, ‘Thaanaa Serndha Koottam’ and ‘Paava Kadhaigal’ (anthology).
