As ‘Malikappuram’ starring Unni Mukundan and directed by debutant Vishnu Sasi Sankar continues to run successfully in theatres, Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai’s latest remarks about the movie has garnered wide attention on social media.

Taking to Facebook, Sreedharan Pillai said that he rarely watches movies in theatres and ‘Malikappuram’ gave him a different experience. He lauded Unni Mukundan and said the actor has identified with Lord Ayyappa very well.

“Through ‘Malikappuram’, Unni Mukundan has portrayed the most remarkable character in his acting career,” wrote the leader.

‘Malikappuram’, written by Abhilash Pillai, centres around an eight-year-old girl who wishes to visit Lord Ayyappa in Sabarimala. The film, produced on a budget of Rs 5 crore, is reported to have collected around Rs 15 crores within two weeks.
