Kochi: Legendary playback singer KJ Yesudas celebrates his 83rd birthday on Tuesday. The vocalist who has been celebrating his birthday at Kollur Mookambika Temple for the past years, will be unable to do so this time as he is currently in Dallas, US.
However, the singer’s birthday celebrations will be held at Azeezia Convention Centre, Padivattom in Kochi on Tuesday. The event, organized by Yesudas Academy, is expected to be attended by the singer’s classmates, fellow artists and friends from various fields.
Actor Mammootty will release the latest musical album ‘Thanichonnu Kaanaan’ of Yesudas at the function. Minister P Rajeev, Hibi Eden MP, Collector Renu Raj, ADGP Ajith Kumar among others will take part in the birthday celebrations
The prolific singer, who has won the National Award for the Best Male Playback Singer eight times, has recorded more than 70,000 songs in various languages.
