Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran director Shyamaprasad has bagged the Kerala government’s highest visual media award--Television Lifetime Achievement Award, for his contributions to the Malayalam television sector.

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a citation and a statuette.

The jury headed by senior journalist Sasi Kumar noted that Shyamaprasad actively worked to make quality content available in Doordarshan from 1984. He also provided foundational inputs for the aesthetics of the Malayalam television sector, the jury added.
