Dulquer Salmaan
Kochi: The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) has lifted the ban imposed on Dulquer Salmaan.
Earlier, this month, the theatre owners in Kerala had declared that they would not cooperate with Dulquer Salmaan's movies soon. The association took the decision as a protest against the OTT release of Dulquer’s movie ‘Salute’. FEUOK had imposed the ban on Dulquer Salmaan and his producing company Wayfarer Films Private Limited.
It is reported that Wayfarer Films has given an explanation to the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) over releasing ‘Salute’ through the OTT platform. Following this, FEUOK decided to lift the ban.
The movie was slated for a theatrical release at first. But due to the pandemic situation, the release was delayed indefinitely. The makers were forced to opt for OTT release as they signed a contract with Sony Liv and agreed to release the movie through this platform by April. As the theatrical release was delayed due to the third wave of COVID-19, 'Salute' got a direct OTT release.
