A fresh controversy erupted in the Malayalam film industry over the upcoming movie ‘Higuita’ directed by debutant Hemanth G Nair after writer NS Madhavan took a surprising move. FEFKA Writers Union has extended support to the director after the Kerala Film Chamber restricted him from using ‘Higuita’ as the title of his movie over a complaint filed by writer NS Madhavan.
NS Madhavan moved a complaint against director Hemanth for using the title of his famous short story. He expressed his displeasure as he was planning to do a movie on his famous short story ‘Higuita’
Reacting to the row, the director stated that the movie starring Suraj Venjaramoodu has no connection with NS Madhavan’s story.
"The film was announced in 2019 and the title registered with the Chamber also. Later, the launch was held at a big function and social media also was active with this. I can't understand why there is a problem now," said the director.
