Filmmaker Dileesh Pothan on Sunday came to the fore in response to actor Edavela Babu’s comments over the film ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ starring Vineeth Sreenivasan.
Speaking at a press conference organised as part of ‘Thankam’ movie promotions, Dileesh said, “Each person views movies differently. When a person tells an opinion about a movie, it is strictly personal.”
“When I make a film, I cannot demand the viewers to watch and react to it only in certain ways. Everyone can cast their own opinion about the movie. Babu Chettan (Edavela Babu) has the freedom to tell his opinion too,” he added.
Lately, Edavela Babu's criticism about ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ had stoked a controversy, with many slamming the actor for his comments.
Speaking at the Kerala Legislature International Book Festival (KLIBF), Babu termed the movie as “completely negative” and accused the heroine’s character of using foul language.
Meanwhile, actor Vineeth Sreenivasan had also backed Babu saying that the latter has not said anything other than what he had already told him.
‘Mukundan Unni Associates’, directed by debutant Abhinav Sunder Nayak and produced by Dr Ajith Joy under the banner of Joy Movie Productions, was released on November 11, 2022.
The film also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tanvi Ram, Jagadeesh, Manikandan Pattambi, George Kora, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Althaf Salim and Riya Saira in significant roles.
