Director Kamal stated that the allegation of rape raised against him by the young actress is baseless. He said that there was a clear conspiracy behind the allegation and added that he dismisses it with the contempt that it deserves. Kamal told mathrubhumi.com that he suspects an officer who was ousted from Chalachitra academy to be behind this.
Calling the allegation baseless, Kamal said that he received a legal notice based on this and understood almost immediately that it was cooked up. And so he called his advocate and informed him about the notice. But there was no further response from the complainant and her advocate and so he did not bother to go after it. He also said that a private channel gave a news mixing up this case with his response to the question on whether the issue with a producer had been solved.
He alleged that this case is intended to defame him personally and as the chairman of Chalachitra academy. Kamal questioned why the complainant is not ready to appear publicly if the complaint was genuine. He also added that he is not anxious about the case as the general public will understand everything.
Kamal then clarified that there is no director in Malayalam cinema by the name Kamaluddin, adding the agenda of those who refer to him as Kamaluddin is evident.
