Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned film director Jeo Baby opined that the censoring of the cinemas is proof of the government's fear towards movies. He was sharing his views in the open forum at the International Film Festival of Kerala 2022.

“The censoring of movies is taking a dangerous turn. The future directors will show us the way to bypass this hindrance. The censoring is employed only for films and this shows how much the administration is scared of movies,” said Jeo Baby.

The belief that the OTT platforms are a solution for censoring is inappropriate, said KM Kamal, another director who participated in the open forum.

“Not just movies, even our opinions are being censored. The perception that censoring has no scope in OTT platforms is wrong. In-house censorship is common in OTT platforms,” said KM Kamal.
