Protest against the destruction of film set of Tovino Thomas starrer Minnal Murali directed by Basil Joseph at Kalady Manappuram has intensified from all walks of life. BJP leader Sandeep G Varier has responded on the incident.
Hari Palode, who claim to be general secretary of AHP, took to social media to share the news about the destruction of the church setup installed here. He alleged that the set was destroyed as it hurt religious sentiments.
Sandeep opined that a few who impersonates as guardians of Hindus are behind the incident. In a Facebook post, he said that they have no links to either BJP or any mainstream Hindu associations.
He also demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
“Film is an industry in which hundreds of people depend on. The shooting setup installed there was an artwork which could have been easily removed from there after the shoot. Strict action should be taken against those who destroyed it. Also, would those who are so eager to safeguard Manapuram and Periyar, take the same stance against those who pollute the river for years? This is only an attention seeking act,” he stated.
