Among the playback singers in Malayalam film industry, K J Yesudas was the favourite of late lyricist Bichu Thirumala. He had revealed this in an interview long time back.

Their relationship strengthened after they worked together for the songs of Tharangini Cassettes.

“It was Yesudas who sung most number of my songs. The albums like ‘Vasanthageethangal’ are historic. ‘Mamankam Palakuri Kondadi’ and other songs were added in this cassette. We never thought it would become such a huge hit,” he had said.

“The popularity it gained through youth festival venues surprised us. It was composed by Raveendran. I bonded with Ravi through the works for Tharangini. The songs in ‘Vasanthageethangal’ still arouses nostalgia among Keralites,” he had said.
