Irinjalakuda: Deepu Balakrishnan, an associate director in the Malayalam film industry, was drowned here on Monday. He was 41.
Deepu was bathing in the southside pond of Irinjalakuda Koodalmanikyam Temple.
As per reports, Deepu went to the pond around 5 am. As he failed to return, his family members went out in search of him and found his clothes and slippers near the pond. Following which, they informed the matter to the Fire Force. The body was recovered in the search conducted by the officers. Soon after, Irinjalakuda police arrived at the spot and took the necessary action.
Deepu, who worked as an assistant director in ‘Urumbukal Urangarilla’, also played a role in the movie. He was the associate director of movies such as ‘Once in Mind’, ‘Prema Soothram’ and has directed numerous short films too.
