Alappuzha: District collector Krishna Teja took to Facebook to share the joy that Telugu actor Allu Arjun has taken up the expenses for higher education of a student in the district.
A girl, who completed Plus Two reached the Alappuzha collectorate with her family and shared her difficulties to pursue higher education even after securing 92 per cent in the higher secondary examination. The hard times of her family began after Covid claimed the life of her father in 2021. The collector decided to assure educational support for the girl with the aid of the ‘We For Alleppey’ project.
In his Facebook post, Teja noted that the girl has set her heart to be a nurse and hence, he contacted many colleges of nursing to obtain a seat for her. The admission for merit seats in the colleges was completed by the time and therefore, the collector enquired for a management seat. Soon she got admission in St Thomas Nursing College in Kattanam. However, a sponsor was required for meeting the expenses of the four years’ course. Collector had contacted Allu Arjun to request for taking up the sponsorship for the girl. Soon after hearing the collector, Allu Arjun assured to take up her entire educational expenses, including the hostel fees.
Collector Krishna Teja extended his gratitude to the actor and the authority of St Thomas College through the social media post.
