Actor Santhosh Keezhattoor, whose comments on Unni Mukundan’s social media post about Hanuman Jayanti stoked a controversy in 2021, has opened up about the issue after years.
In an interview, Santhosh revealed that he even had to face death threats because of the controversy wherein he wrote on social media, in response to Unni Mukundan’s Hanuman Jayanti greetings, whether Lord Hanuman would save the world from Corona.
“We have acted together. That day, I had foolishly written a comment and admitted it was wrong. I had to face death threats because of the post. Some people told me that they would kill me. I know that happened as I clearly upheld my politics,” Santhosh said.
“What’s more saddening is that although I admitted my mistake, he (Unni Mukundan) took it personally. He could have responded to my comments below. Later on, he acted as if he didn’t even know me. Aren’t we all human beings? I felt sad seeing the recent video in which he made obscene remarks,” he said.
Earlier, Unni Mukundan had responded to Santhosh’s comments saying that he wrote the post praying for all to the God he believed in. Following which, numerous people came to the fore supporting and opposing both actors.
Later, Santhosh, who faced cyber attacks, deleted his comments suspecting if it had offended Unni and the issue subdued over time.
