Mammootty lends helping hand to people of Koottickal; offers medical service, basic amenities

Kottayam: Mollywood star Mammootty has extended his support to people in landslide-hit Koottickal. He has lent a helping hand to the people of Koottickal through the charity organisation Care and Share International Foundation.

A medical team including doctors arranged by the actor reached Koottickal on Thursday. The medical team led by Aluva Rajagiri hospital Medical Superintendent and noted pulmonologist Dr Sunny P Orathil arrived at the relief camps. The team including expert doctors also took many modern medical equipment and medicines.

Mammootty also sponsored 100 water harvesting systems for distributing one per 10 families. Over 2000 cloth bags including new dresses for men and women, new vessels, beds and many items were taken for distribution in the relief camps.

Care and Share managing director Fr Thomas Kurian Marottipuzha and the team had visited Koottickal on the next day of the disaster. Mammooty has taken initiative for the relief works as per the report given by the team.

Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association International based in Canada and US are also sponsoring for helping the people at the landslide-hit place.
