Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Anil Nedumangad drowned while bathing in Malankara dam in Thodupuzha on Friday. He was 48.
It is reported that Anil Nedumangad was in Thodupuzha for the shooting of ‘Peace’ starring Joju George. During an interval, Anil Nedumangad and friends went to bathe in Malankara dam. It is learned that he went into a deeper area and got pulled under by strong currents.
His friends, who noticed him missing, searched for him and fished him out with the help of rescue workers around 6 pm. He was rushed to a private hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead. His body will be shifted to the Thodupuzha District Government Hospital.
Anil’s performances in ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, ‘Kammatti Paadam’, ‘Njan Steve Lopez’ and ‘Porinju Mariyam Jose’ made him popular.
