Mappilappattu singer M Kunjimoosa passes away
Kozhikode: Popular Mappilappattu singer and composer M Kunjimoosa passed away during the wee hours of Tuesday at Vadakara. He was 90.
His last rites will be performed on Tuesday evening at Vadakara.
Kunjimoosa was active as a ‘Mappilappattu’ singer since 1970. He was the singer and composer of popular songs like ‘Kathir Kathum Rasoolinte’, ‘Yah Ilahi’, ‘Khojarajave’ and ‘Darajapoo’. He has also given voice to many light music songs.
He was a known singer in All India Radio.
Kunjimoosa who was a headload worker tried his luck in music with the support of noted music director K Raghavan master. He also had won many awards for his songs.
He penned and composed ‘Mappilappattu’ songs.
Kunjimoosa was an active member of Thalassery music club and Janata Sangeetha Sabha.

He was settled at Mooradu in Vadakara. He has 8 children including singer Thajudeen Vatakara.
