KS Chithra turns 59; birthday wishes pour in for Kerala's 'Vanambadi'

Kerala's most-celebrated playback singer KS Chithra turned 59 on Monday. Extending birthday greetings to Kerala's singing sensation, many people including celebrities and her fans extended birthday greetings to her.

She has recorded over 25,000 film songs in her career from 1979. Apart from film songs, she has also rendered voice to 7,000 other songs. She has won 6 national film awards and 36 different state film awards from 6 states.

In 2021, she was honoured with India's highest civilian award 'Padma Bhushan'.

Her song starting 'Naru Vennila' in the recently released 'Major' impressed the music lovers and her fans alike. The song featured the strong bond between a mother and son. Her song in 'Malik' starring Fahadh Faasil was a superhit.
