KS Chithra, 22 other singers sing old prayer song to express solidarity with COVID-19 battle
Malayalam playback singers, including KS Chithra and Sujatha Mohan, joined hands together for a music video to express solidarity in the efforts to wipe out the coronavirus pandemic across the world.
A total of 22 Malayalam singers rendered their voice for a popular old prayer song starting ‘Lokam Muzhuvan Sukham Parkaranayi’ in the music video.
In the introduction to the video, KS Chithra stated that the singers recorded the song from their house and it collaborated together as each one singing a line. The versatile singer appealed to the audience to stay safe at home and motivated that together we will overcome the pandemic.
Rimi Tomy, Swetha Mohan, Jyotsna, Sachin Warrier, Afsal, Kavalam Sreekumar, Vidhu Prathap, Sreeram, Devanand, Sharreth, Ravi Shankar and others were seen singing one line of the song in the video.
The music video titled ‘Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu’ was released on the official Facebook page book of KS Chithra.
The song written by P Bhaskaran is from the movie ‘Snehadeepame Mizhi Thurakku’ released in 1972. The original version was sung by S Janaki.
