Thiruvananthapuram: Singer MS Naseem passed away here on Wednesday. He breathed his last at a private hospital.
According to reports, Naseem was under treatment after suffering stroke. He rendered voice for plays of many troupes including Sivagiri Kalasamithi, Changambuzha theatres and Kozhikode Brothers.
He joined KPAC due to his passion for communism. He rendered his voice for many popular songs in KPAC. Later, he made his film debut. ‘Bharyaye Avasyamund’ and ‘Ananthavrithantham’ are the movies in which he worked as a playback singer.
Naseem rose to fame as a singer in Doordarshan Malayalam channel. He had won award for best mini screen playback singer in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1997.
He fell ill during the shooting of a documentary based on the life of music director Raghavan Master.
