Anumol to portray artist Padmini in Susmesh Chandroth's debut directorial
Writer Susmesh Chandroth is all set to don the role of a movie director. He is making a film based on the life of T K Padmini, a renowned artist who lived in Kerala.
In the 1960s, Padmini was praised by art critics and the media to be the future of Indian art scene. However, she passed away at the age of 29 following childbirth, leaving behind over 200 paintings and drawings.
Susmesh is also writing the script. The movie is produced by T K Gopalan in the banner of T K Padmini Memorial Trust. Anumol will play the character of Padmini. Irshad will play Padmini's uncle T K Divakara Menon, who led her to the world of art despite protests. Sanju Sivaram will play Padmini's husband K Damodaran, who himself was an artist.
This is Susmesh's first directorial venture. He had earlier written screenplays for 'Pakal', 'Athira 10 C', and 'Marichavarude Kadal'.
Edassery Govindan Nair, P Kunjiraman Nair, and V T Bhattathiripad, C N Karunakaran, and Namboothiri will be characters in the film.
Manesh Madhavan will crank the camera. Sreevalsan J Menon will compose music.
