Amid election fever, Pa Ranjith releases two short films conveying political message
The entire social media users were stunned to see the recent moves of Tamil director Pa Ranjith. With the Lok Sabha election round the corner, the director has released two short films conveying political messages produced under the banner of his production company ‘Neelam’. The movies are released on YouTube and are shared along with the hashtag #VoteOutHate.
The first movie ‘Lovers in the Afternoon’ is written and directed by Rajesh Rajamani. Radhika Prasiddha and Rejin Rose have played the lead roles in the movie. Dinesh K. Babu is the cinematographer.
In the movie, a couple are seen fighting with each other. Later, the man leaves the house and returns with beef. The film shows that beef is a food that is closely connected with the daily lives here. It also points to the recent political incidents as well.
The other film titled ‘Share Auto’ is written and directed by Jeny Dolly. Sheeba Rampal, Jaya Swaminathan, Senthil, Kalpana Ambedkar, Kowsi, Sai and Dhamo have played various characters in the movie. Deepak Bagavanth is the cinematographer.
The short film brings to light the racial-religious discrimination existing in the society. Share autorickshaws packed with travellers is a common sight in Tamil Nadu. The movie narrates an incident during such a journey.
Pa Ranjith had also signed a mass petition of directors in Tamil Nadu urging people not to cast their votes for BJP.
