'We all await Lalettan's birthday'; actress Lissy writes on behalf of 80s
Superstar Mohanlal turns 60 on May 21. '80s', the collective of the South Indian stars during the 1980s, is conveying birthday wishes to Mohanlal in advance. Actress Lissy Lakshmi writes about Mohanlal....
"I have worked in very few Malayalam movies. And I was the heroine of Lalettan (Mohanlal) in most of those films. I still have the same comfort level with him. Never have I seen a person who have that much of patience. When co-actors make mistakes and scenes are reshot, he keeps encouraging them and cooperates with the team. When dance sequences are shot under scorching sun, he supports without any complaint.
I have close connection with Lalettan's family too. His wife Suchithra is my close friend. Our families visit each other some times. Both families together had gone for many trips during shootings and vacations. When Lalettan is busy with shooting, Suchithra and I go for trips with children.
During journeys, Lalettan is a complete family man. He is not hesitant to cook food, iron clothes or carry luggage. When we return after shopping, Lalettan would carry too many bags and would say funnily, 'you are making a superstar carry your bags'. He is a such a simple person.
Many people might have come to know the cooking skills of Lalettan only recently. But we already knew it and were even fortunate enough to taste some of his recipes. He cooks food very excitedly just as he does any other task. He puts in the food whatever he gets in hand. But we cannot ask him to cook the same item once more. As he adds different ingredients each time, there is no proper recipe. However, the taste is incredible always.
Also Lalettan is the most active person in the reunion of 80s, which is a collective of the South Indian stars during 1980s. He arrives with a magic every time and comes forward to prepare skits and dance performances. We are all happy for seeing a superstar joining with us to be part of the fun. He is the one who enjoys these gatherings to the fullest. We wish him a very happy birthday in advance...."
