Tovino donates Rs 12.5 lakh to ‘Snehabhumi’ project for flood victims
Kochi: Actor Tovino Thomas has made contribution to Mathrubhumi’s ‘Snehabhumi’ project which aims at constructing houses for landslip-victims of Wayanad. The Kalki actor has donated Rs 12.5 lakh to the project.
He handed over the cash cheque to Mathrubhumi Joint Managing Director MV Shreyams Kumar here on Friday.
Snehabhumi project aims to purchase land to construct houses for 100 families of Puthumala in Wayanad. Under the project, secure land which are not prone to natural calamities will be purchased for the 100 families.
“I decided to cooperate with Snehabhumi project as I found it gives immediate benefit to the people. As a part of the society, we are bound to support the people who lost their houses in the flood. I am sure that many good people will join the project. I am really glad to be a part of Snehabhumi,” said Tovino Thomas.
At the same time, Kochi Customs donated Rs 1 lakh to the project.
Customs recreation club has taken leadership to collect the amount after reading the news on Snehabhumi, said Customs recreation club secretary KS Abhilash. Customs commissioner Muhammad Yousuf handed over the fund to Mathrubhumi Kochi unit manager P Sindhu.
