Strife between Shane Nigam and Joby George settled
Kochi: The dispute between actor Shane Nigam and the producer of his upcoming movie Veyil, Joby George, has been settled. In a consensus meet held by Producers Association and A.M.M.A, all issues were discussed and settled.
After the discussion, Shane told media that Joby apologized to him for personal charges. He also said that he is satisfied over the outcome of the discussion.
“I will cooperate with the shooting of the movie Veyil, which will restart from November 16,” Shane added.
A controversy broke out after Shane posted a Instagram live video alleging that he was facing death threats from Joby George. The actor claimed that Joby made the threat as he had to change his hairstyle for another movie, in which he acted during the schedule break of Veyil. Shane also wrote to A.M.M.A. seeking help.
Soon, Joby called a press meet and told media that he has been cheated by Shane Nigam.
"He (Nigam) took Rs 30 lakh from me for my film Veyil and later asked for another Rs 10 lakh. He is now skulking, and not reporting to finish the remaining portion of the film," said Joby, adding that it would take "another 10 days" for him to wrap up his film.
Joby pointed out that according to the agreement Shane is duty-bound not to cut his hair as this is required for the role he plays. However, the actor has violated the agreement for a role in another film.
"I have already raised the issue with the Producers Association. I did speak to him, but I never ever used foul language and my tone was never threatening as he has claimed in a video that he has put out," said Joby.
Joby said his film was scheduled to release this month but will now be delayed. He added that he has already spent Rs 4.75 crore on his project.
With both parties taking the issue to the public domain, office bearers of the Producers Association and A.M.M.A. took up the issue, and did their best to ensure things don't flare up further.
