Sometimes our mind needs care, Rajisha Vijayan appeals for treatment of depression
The film industry and fans are in shock after Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide, allegedly due to depression. Following his death, social media is witnessing discussions over mental health and solutions to overcome depression.
Now, Mollywood star Rajisha Vijayan has also come forward revealing about depression in her life. She took to her Instagram and penned a note on the importance of seeking medical care for mental health.
The ‘June’ actress revealed that she also consulted a doctor to overcome mental problems.
“I have. So please go meet a mental health professional if you are in need. There is nothing to be ashamed of in that. Our mind is also a part of our body and sometimes it will need care just like any another part which gets sick. And trust me, a professional can help you in so many ways,” wrote Rajisha on her Instagram page.
She also shared a poster which describes the role of a counsellor or therapist to treat mental health problems.
“Going to a counsellor or therapist when you are feeling sad or overwhelmed should be as normal as going to the doctor when you have the flu. Let’s end the stigma about mental health.
On the work front, Rajisha was last seen in the Malayalam movie 'Stand Up'. She is making her Kollywood debut in Dhanush starrer 'Karnan'.
