Shane Nigam-Producers’ row: Directors approach FEFKA
Kochi: Expressing anguish over the row between actor Shane Nigam and Producers’ association, directors who committed movies with the actor approached Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
Three directors namely Veny, Salam Bappu and Sajid Yahiya expressed disgust over the delay in completing movies over the issue. Following the directors’ demand to solve the issue between the actor and producers, FEFKA has sent a letter to the Producers ‘Association.
At the same time, the Producers’ Association asserted that Shane Nigam’s non-cooperation caused loss to the producers of the upcoming movies ‘Qurbani’ and ‘Veyil’. The association has decided that they will not cooperate with Shane Nigam’s movies unless he pays compensation to the producers who incurred losses.
Recently, Shane has completed the dubbing for the movie ‘Ullasam’ following conciliation talks between Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A) and Producers’ Association. At the same, A.M.M.A also dismissed Producers’ Association’s demand seeking Rs 1 crore as compensation from Shane.
Following this, Shane’s new projects are also facing challenges. All three directos informed FEFKA that if the settlement gets delayed, the three projects will be affected.
It is learned that if Shane does not start shooting due to the decision of the producers to boycott him, there will be issue with the dates of other stars in the movies.
Dubai is the location for one movie. So if the project gets delayed, there will be problems including climate change, the directors noted in their complaint to FEFKA.
