Shane Nigam agrees to give compensation to producers
Kochi: The issue between actor Shane Nigam and Kerala Film Producers Association is about to reach a consensus after Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A) have taken initiative for it. According to reports, Shane Nigam has agreed to give compensation to the two producers. The decision was taken at the executive meet of A.M.M.A in Kochi.
Compensation will be given to the producers of ‘Veyil’ and ‘Qurbani’. Meanwhile, the amount will be given to them through producers’ association. It is hinted that Rs 16 lakh will be given as compensation. An official confirmation of the amount is not made yet.
Earlier, the producers’ association demanded Rs 1 crore as compensation. But A.M.M.A has taken a firm stand that such huge amount would not be given. At the same time, the association has taken initiative to settle the issue for the sake of the film industry. Hence, they decided to give compensation to the producers who were affected with the non-cooperation of Shane Nigam.
A.M.M.A general secretary Edavela Babu stated that the compensation amount will be raised from Shane’s remuneration.
Eleven members of A.M.M.A, including president Mohanlal and secretary Edavela Babu, attended the executive meeting held in Kochi on Tuesday.
