Palakkad: Citizen environmental activists demanded that ivory possession and fake currency case against superstar Mohanlal must be reinvestigated.
NAPM national convenor Vilayodi Venugopal, VP Nijamudeen and P Gopalan said in a press conference said the forest department officers have violated laws to protect Mohanlal from the case of possessing ivory without necessary documents.
Recently, Comptroller and Auditor General of India in a report had stated that the Kerala Forest Department violated protocol to help actor Mohanlal in the ivory tusk possession case. The report said that issuing an order solely for the actor to reveal details of animal remains was in violation of section 40 of Wildlife Act.
The report also criticized the order for excluding other people who have been accused in similar offences.
