Parvathy’s film bags top honours at Japan film fest
Mollywood actor Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer Tamil anthology movie ‘Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengallum’ has won the best film award at the 29th Fukuoka International Film Festival held in Japan. The movie directed by Vasanth S Sai was screened at the fest on September 15.
On Wednesday, Parvathy took to twitter and congratulated director Vasanth and the team.
The movie is based on three female centric short stories written by Jeyamohan, Adhavan and Ashoka Mithra.
Director Vasanth received the award from the film fest director Hariki Yasuhiro and committee chairman Kubota Isao.
Kaleeswari Sreenivas and Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli also played the lead roles in the movie with Parvathy.
‘Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengallum’ features the story of three women named Saraswathi, Devaki and Sivaranjini who belong to three different periods. The three women are forced to sacrifice their own personality for the family system, early marriage and pregnancy. The movie features the gender inequality and anti-feminism which prevails in the society.
The movie was appreciated by the critics at the International Film Fest held in Thiruvananthapuram in 2018.
