North India floods: Manju Warrier and team stranded in Himachal
Kozhikode: Actress Manju Warrier and a movie crew were stranded in Chatra in Himachal Pradesh in the floods that hit the state. There are around 30 persons in the team. More than 200 people are stranded here at Chatru, 100 kms from Manali.
Manju and team arrived here three weeks before for shooting of Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s new movie.
The team is left with food reserve for only two days. The place has been isolated after roads, internet and communication facilities to here were damaged.
By night 9 pm on Monday, Manju had contacted her brother Madhu Warrier via satellite phone seeking help. Communication with the team has been lost after Monday’s heavy rains.
It is reported that some tourists are also stranded here along with the movie crew.
Madhu has contacted union minister V Muraleedharan seeking help. It is known that minister has contacted Himachal Pradesh chief minister and sought immediate help.
