No shooting of new Malayalam films; associations declare support to producers
Kochi: In the background of COVID-19 outbreak, producers in the Malayalam film industry has decided to temporarily call off shooting of new movies. Now, Kerala Film Chamber and Film Exhibitors’ United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) also extended support to the producers decision.
Some filmmakers had announced the shooting of new movies the other day violating the direction of producers association.
Kerala Film Chamber also asserted that the production of new movies is not possible without registering the title.
“Those who start shooting without registering the title in Kerala Film Chamber will not get the commercial consideration and benefits,” said Kerala Film Chamber president K Vijayakumar.
At the same time, FEUOK general secretary MC Boby and Kerala Cine Exhibitors Association president Shaji Viswanath stated that they will cooperate with the film producers and distributors.
