Never acted to win award, says Nimisha Sajayan
State award winning actress Nimisha Sajayan said that she never acted to win awards. She was responding to media after the 49th state film awards were announced on Wednesday.
She won the state award for best actress for her roles in the movies Chola and Oru Kurprasidha Payyan. “ I consider this award as an appreciation for my effort. I don't act to win any award. I just give my maximum to perform my role well on screen,” said Nimisha.
“I was little bit nervous when I was acting in Oru Kuprasidha Payyan. Because the character Hannah Elizabeth was a complicated one. But everyone in the team supported me to act well,” Nimisha also recollected the shooting days of Oru Kuprasidha Payyan.
She noted that Chola is an independent movie. “Chola is a small movie. I am glad that the movie got such a great recognition. I played the role of a schoolgirl in the movie. Though I was afraid, director Sanal was confident that I was the apt person for the role,” said Nimisha.
When asked about her favourite character, she stated that all characters in her career were her favourite. “The audience supported me from the beginning of my career. It resulted in such a great achievement,” she added.
