Nayanthara donates Rs 20 lakh to daily wage workers in Kollywood
South India’s lady superstar Nayanthara has donated Rs 20 lakh for the welfare of the daily wage workers in the Tamil film industry amidlockdown. She handed over the money to the Film Employees Federation of South India to help the needy.
Kollywood actors including Sivakarthikeyan, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Rajinikanth also donated money to the daily wage workers who are having a tough time after turning jobless following the lockdown. Actress Aishwarya Rajesh contributed Rs 1 lakh for the daily wage workers’ relief.
Earlier, FEFSI president RK Selvamani requested the stars to make generous contributions to help the daily wage workers who became jobless after shootings were cancelled amid coronavirus outbreak.
Apart from financial aid, many stars contributed essential food materials also to daily wage workers.
Following the lockdown, the shooting of many big-budget movies in Kollywood was interrupted. The filmmakers and producers hope to resumes the shooting after April 14 as the 21 days long lockdown period will be completed on this date.
