Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Allu Arjun to donate for workers in film industry amid lockdown
Workers in the film industry are having a tough time after the shootings were cancelled followed COVID-19 outbreak. Observing this, FEFKA, the union of directors in Mollywood, have come out to support them. According to reports, Mollywood stars Mohanlal, Manju Warrier and Tollywood star Allu Arjun have already informed FEFKA that they will contribute to support the workers who are engaged in various jobs in shooting locations.
Talking to mathrubhumi.com, FEFKA union president director B Unnikrishnan has informed that fund will be collected to provide financial aid to the workers and handed over to them within April 14.
He reported that the union is preparing a list of the workers who need financial support. Members in FEFA, other organizations in the film industry, actors, companies and well-wishers of the film industry will contribute to the fund.
“Actor Mohanlal expressed willingness to contribute to this noble mission before we contacted him. He promised a huge amount for the workers. Allu Arjun was the second celebrity who joined the mission. Offering the donation, he stated that he loves Malayalam like Telugu. Manju Warrier also contacted me and told that she will transfer an amount,” said Unnikrishnan.
“The stars did not reveal the amount to the fund yet,” he added.
On the other day, Kollywood stars like Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi and Karthi also provided financial support to the daily wage workers.
