Manju Warrier’s complaint: VA Shrikumar skips interrogation
Thrissur: Odiyan director V A Shrikumar, who was booked over a complaint by actress Manju Warrier, did not arrive for the interrogation of Crime Branch here on Sunday. Thrissur Crime Branch team led by Assistant Commissioner CD Sreenivasan is investigating the case.
Last week, the probe team raided the director’s office and house in Palakkad. As he was not in Palakkad, the officials summoned him for interrogation on Sunday. But he skipped the interrogation without informing the probe team.
In October, Manju Warrier had lodged a complaint against the director with DGP Loknath Behera. In her complaint, Manju Warrier stated that she was facing death threat from the director.
In her handwritten complaint against Shrikumar, Manju Warrier pointed out that the director has tried to tarnish her image on social media by posting defamatory comments and memes.
It is also reported that the director shouted and humiliated her during a celebration on the sets of ‘Odiyan’ movie.
The case was registered under Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code (word, gesture or act intending to insult the modesty of any woman) and other sections of the IPC.
