Learned acting from hunger: Harisree Ashokan
Kollam: Actor Harisree Ashokan shared his experience of struggle and poverty that turned him a film actor. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 28th Sargotsavam organised by Chapter College at Sopanam Kalakshethram here on Friday.
“I have learnt the lessons of acting from poverty,” said the actor.
Kerala Sahithya Akademi member and poet Pavithran Theekuni delivered the keynote address in the function.
“Artistes are like flower bouquets. We all find bouquets beautiful but it will be useless once it withers away,” stated the poet.
He added that poetry is protest and life.
Chapter College Director T Mohanan presided over the programme. Poet Vakkanad Radhakrishnan, Bharatha Orchestra coordinator Biju Kanchan addressed the programme. Students staged cultural programmes at the event. A music show of Bharatha Orchestra also staged.
National award-winning actor Suraj Venjaramoodu honoured with Chapter Bharatha award in the ceremony held on Saturday. Excise Commissioner Rishiraj Singh inaugurated the event. Chapter Bharath Theatres staged drama in the event.
