Kuruvachan warns of legal action against movies starring Prithviraj, Suresh Gopi
Kottayam: Shooting of the two movies of Prithviraj and Suresh Gopi based on the life of Edamattom native Kuruvinakunnnel Kuruvachan aka Jose Kuruvinakunnel will be in crisis.
Kurucachan, who is a planter in Kottayam, declared that he will not allow anyone to make a movie based on his life. Kuruvachan cleared his stance when Prithviraj announced his movie ‘Kaduva’ based on Kurucachan's life. At the same time, Suresh Gopi’s 250th movie is also based on his life.
Kuruvachan stated that he has allowed actor and writer Renji Panicker to make a movie based on his life.
“Only Renji Panicker got the rights to make a movie on my life. I don’t know whether he is linked with the two projects. Some people visited me revealing plans to make a movie on my life. But none of them narrated the story to me. I will take legal action if anyone proceeds with a project based on my life,” asserted Kuruvachan.
The two movies are based on the legal battle of Kuruvachan against a top cop.
Kuruvachan wishes that Renji Panicker should write the story and Suresh Gopi should play the lead.
Prithviraj starring ‘Kaduva’ will be directed by Shaji Kailas. Jinu Abraham has penned the script.
Suresh Gopi’s movie will be written by Shibin Francis and directed by debutant Mathew Thomas.
At the same time, the two movies are already facing a legal battle over the story. ‘Kaduva’ scriptwriter Jinu Abraham approached the court against Mathew Thomas over plagiarism charges on the movie’s story.
