Kunchacko Boban’s wife feeds the needy on birthday, thanks hubby for best gift ever
Kochi: Mollywood actor Kunchako Boban gifted a unique birthday present to his wife Priya who celebrated her birthday on Friday. Amid the lockdown over coronavirus scare, the actor took his wife to engage in some humanitarian work on her birthday.
On Friday, the couple arrived at the COVID Kitchen organized by film employees to feed the people in the city amid lockdown. Like active volunteers, they packed food to be distributed among the needy. While packing each food packet, Priya was happy doing something for the people who are in distress.
“This is the best ever birthday gift in my life,” Priya told Chackochan with great satisfaction.
Kunchako Boban lauded COVID Kitchen initiative and said it is a great responsibility towards the society.
“The world is facing a great crisis. Many people are forced to starve following the lockdown. So I want to do my little part for the society by joining COVID Kitchen,” he said.
He also revealed that his wife wanted to celebrate her birthday at COVID Kitchen with an aim to serve the public.
“Priya told me that she didn’t want any gift for birthday. And asked me to take her to the COVID Kitchen to help people who are engaged in a humanitarian job,” said the actor.
COVID Kitchen, organized by film employees in Kochi has been winning the hearts of the public every day.
Film producers Maha Subair, Anto Joseph, Ashiq Usman, Ichayees Manu, production controller Badushah and actor Joju George took initiative for the mission to feed at least 100 people in the city daily.
It functions at Maha Subair’s residence here. COVID Kitchen became more popular with the support of Venus Lane Residents Association in Kaloor.
At present, food for over 4000 people is prepared here.
For lunch, rice, sambar, thoran and pickle are included. Chapati and curry are distributed for dinner. Every Sunday, chicken biriyani is served.
The cooking is carried out with the help of the workers in the catering unit owned by Maha Subair’s brother. Women from the residents association help the group in works like cutting vegetables and so on.
Many actors have joined the COVID Kitchen initiative. Actors Asif Ali, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Ramesh Pisharady, Suresh Krishna and Sadiq had arrived here to help the team.
