Kamal Haasan says his daughters’ religion is their choice; lauds Kerala for brave move
Actor Kamal Haasan was born in a Brahmin family, but he bravely declared at the age of 10 that he did not like to wear the sacred thread. Kamal Haasan has already clarified that he does not belong to any religion, and that he sees God in virtuous persons, and also he cannot support the religious fanatics.
Now he has declared that as a father, he had given his daughters absolute freedom to choose their religion. He had congratulated the Kerala government in a tweet, for issuing the circular which makes it not compulsory to fill the columns of religion and caste in the birth certificate. He said in the tweet that he did not fill the columns of religion and caste in his daughter’s birth certificate.
He said in the tweet that his daughters chose the religion of their choice when they turned 21. Shruti Haasan chose to be a Hindu, whereas Akshara Haasan decided to live without any religion and caste.
