Ilayaraja, Chithra, AR Rahman wish speedy recovery for SPB
Indians around the globe are praying for noted singer SP Balasubramanyam who is in critical condition after testing COVID positive. On Friday, a medical bulletin from the private hospital where the singer is under treatment reported that he is in ventilator support. As the news spread like wildfire, singers like Ilayaraja, KS Chithra and AR Rahman took to their social media pages with prayers for SP Balasubramanyam.
Singer and music director Ilayaraja who is a close friend of SPB was seen emotional in a video on social media. In the video, Ilayaraja was seen requesting SPB to get well soon and come back to the music industry.
“Balu .. come back soon, I am waiting for you. Our life will not end with movies. We started our career with concerts and stage shows. Music is our life and reason to live. Our friendship will remain forever like music. Whenever we quarrelled, our friendship was always in our heart. So, I am praying for your come back. My heart says you will definitely come back to life. Balu..... come soon,” said Ilayaraja in the video.
Malayalam playback singers KS Chithra and Sujatha Mohan took to their Facebook page and penned a heartfelt note for the singer.
"SPB sir is a strong & positive person. I am sure he will come out of the present situation. Prayers for Sir’s speedy recovery,” wrote Chithra.
“Balu sir, we all are praying for you,” wrote Sujatha on her Facebook page.
Meanwhile, popular music director AR Rahman also tweeted seeking prayers for SPB.
“I request all the music fans to pray for this legend along with me. SP Balasubramanyam. He has given so much joy with his amazing voice,” tweeted AR Rahman.
Many others from the film fraternity in India also took to social media pages with prayers for the singer.
The hospital said SPB is on life support system and his condition remains critical.
He is currently under the observation of a team of experts from critical care and his haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored, a bulletin released by MGM Healthcare said.
He was admitted to MGM Healthcare on Aug 5 with Covid-19 symptoms.
