IIFK Special: Kumbalangi Nights is my favourite Malayalam film, says Lankan actress Dinara
Dinara Punchiheva has heaped praises on International Film Festival of Kerala saying that the 24th edition of the festival has been extremely well organised and that its audience is one of the best in the world. The Sri Lankan actress was here in the city as part of the screening of her Sinhalese film Gaadi.
She said that the Sri Lankan society is still recovering from the Easter terror attacks that happened earlier this year. However the country will overcome this crisis together, she added.
Responding to the question on Sri Lankan cinema and how it has evolved in the time of Netflix and Amazon Prime, Dinara claimed that there is much more international recognition today due to these streaming platforms.
A fan of Bollywood movies, Dinara confessed that she has not seen a lot of south Indian movies. She has recently started following Malayalam cinema, with Kumbalangi Nights being her favourite.
