I am greedy, not for money but movies – Mammootty
There is no retirement from cinema, says actor Mammootty. The actor, while sharing the experience in his latest release Unda directed by Khalid Rahman with Mathrubhumi News, also said that he is greedy towards movies. The greed inside me toward cinema pushes me to hear and do so much of movies, he said.
He compared his situation to that of a buffet.
“While going for a buffet dinner, you take everything in your plate. Some you like and some you don't. The same is my situation,” he said.
I don’t select my movies thinking whether other person will like it or not. If I like it, I will do it. There is nothing more to it. While selecting we just get the gist of the movie and like it. The end product is received by the audience. Hence we can’t predict what will be the fate of the movie, Mammootty added.
Answering a question, he said that he is not interested in directing a movie for time being.
“Around 20 years ago, I wanted to direct movies. But now I don’t think so. There are many good directors around. I would like to act in their movies. To direct, there should be something in us that needs to be told. I don’t have anything like that now, he added.
