HC orders for strict restriction in Kerala from May 1 to 4; no gatherings allowed
Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ordered to impose strict restrictions in the state for four days from May 1 in view of the surge in the Covid cases here. The court strictly restricted gatherings and celebrations on the day of declaring election results.
The court also directed that the police should ensure that restrictions are strictly followed. Those who violate the orders will be booked under the Epidemic Diseases Act.
On the other day, the government also ordered strict restrictions similar to lockdown from May 4 to 9 in view of the surge in COVID cases.
It is learned that restrictions similar to the mini lockdown which was imposed on Saturday and Sunday will come into force in the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed that those who violate the restrictions will be booked under the disaster management act.
