Hate campaign: Asha Sharath files complaint
Actress Asha Sarath filed a complaint with cyber cell over the misuse of her movie’s promotional video and hate campaign against her.
She had posted a video as part of the promotion of her latest movie ‘Evide’ on Facebook. In the video, Asha as character of the movie, sought help to trace her missing husband. The video clearly mentioned that it is a promotional video and it also carried title of movie. But unexpectedly some people shared the video by removing the title and claimed that Asha Sharath’s husband was missing.
A lawyer filed complaint against the actress for posting a fake video by misleading the public.
As the filmmakers clarified it is a promotional video, some people started hate campaign against the actress.
“In the video, Asha was seen as Jessy, the character in Evide. Jessy was seeking help to trace her missing husband Zakariah. The video was produced as part of the movie promotion,” said the film makers.
We clearly mentioned the video was part of movie promotion in its title and credit too, they added.
The team also condemned the hate campaign against Asha.
“She has given great support to the movie. It is really sad that she faced such a cyber attack. We noticed that some people shared the video by removing the title part and it resulted in the controversy. We have taken a firm stand against it,” informed the film makers.
Observing the continuous cyber attack through Facebook page, Asha Sharath has lodged a complaint with cyber cell and DGP Loknath Behera.
