Film producer Manjilas Joseph passes away
Chennai: Manjilas Films owner M O Joseph, who had been an integral part of the Malayalam film industry for 37 years, is no more. He was 80. He was in Chennai when the end came.
Manjilas Films had produced many a famous movie Malayalam once. M O Joseph entered film production by forming the company Navayuga Pictures in 1967 with the help of two friends. His first movie was Prem Nazir-starrer 'Nadan Pennu'. In 1968, he produced 'Thokkukal Katha Parayunnu'.
Then he started his company Manjilas Films, and its first movie was 'Yakshi'. The final film produced by Manjilas was Para that released in 1985.
Joseph is survived by wife Kunjamma, children Josy, Mathew, Beena (Delhi), Ruby (Muscat), and Anu (Mumbai).
