Fake social media posts on Fahadh, Director Fazil files complaint
Film Director Fazil has lodged a complaint with the police over a fake message being circulated through social media along with a childhood photograph of his son and actor Fahadh Faasil.
The social media message invites entries from parents of children who resembled the actor in his young age, for a movie. Fazil submitted his complaint to the District Police Chief.
The Alappuzha South Police have registered a case and an investigation is on.
Fazil said Fahadh does not have any idea of such a movie or a story. The actor also does not have any acquaintance with the people behind the post. They had given a phone number with the post. When contacted, none responded to the calls.
In True Caller, the owner of the number is identified as one ‘Fahadh’.
The message, which is being circulated through WhatsApp, also invites women in the age group of 15 to 30 for the movie. Talking to Mathrubhumi, Fazil said he decided to lodge a police complaint after several children including those from Alappuzha went missing recently.
District Police Chief V M Muhammed Rafeeq said the complaint is of serious nature and a detailed investigation is underway.
