Dubbing Artist Ambili, who dubbed for Monisha, passes away
Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned dubbing artist Ambili passed away. She was 51. She has been under treatment for the past four months. She was residing in Lake View in Vattiyoorkavu in Thiruvananthapuram.
Ambili had dubbed for more than 500 movies and gained fame after dubbing for late actress Monisha. Ambili gave her voice to Monisha from her debut movie ‘Nakhakhshathangal’ which earned Monisha the National Award for Best Actress to her last movie.
Ambili has also dubbed for Shalini when she was a child artist. She has also dubbed for actresses like Shobhana, Jomol, Rohini, Ambika, Rani Padmini, Parvathy, Renjini, Lissy, Sithara, Shari, Urvashi and Chippy.
Ambili has prepared script for movies dubbed from other languages. She debuted in dubbing industry through the Malayalam dubbed version of the Kannada film ‘Bhaktha Kannappa’ at the age of 8 years. Ambili dubbed for a heroine at the age of 13 in the film ‘Lorry’.
She was married to dubbing artist Chandramohan. She is the daughter of actress and dubbing artist Pala Thankam. Ambili is survived by her daughters Vrinda and Vidya. The last rites will take place at Thiruvananthapuram Santhikavadam on Friday by noon.
