Dr. Biju, Joy Mathew settle 5-yr-long case out of court
Adoor: The five year long legal battle between director Dr. Biju and actor-director Joy Mathew has ended up with an unexpected climax. A case filed five years ago was compromised the other day, and the duo bid farewell to each other declaring a new movie on court procedures.
Dr. Biju had filed a case in 2013 alleging that Joy Mathew showered abuse on him and threatened accusing that Biju had denied award for the movie ‘Shutter’, a directorial venture of Joy Mathew. Dr. Biju was a member of the national award jury.
Both the parties arrived at Adoor court on Thursday. Biju had told his friends that he is willing to withdraw the case if Joy Mathew apologised. But Joy Mathew had made it clear that he would not apologise.
When both of them arrived at the court, Assistant Public Prosecutor said that the case can be settled out of court. However, Joy Mathew’s advocate informed that Joy Mathew is not willing to apologise. Thus the court allowed both of them to talk with each other after the hearing.
Dr. Biju and Joy Mathew started talking in the court room in the presence of their advocates and soon the dispute was settled. Later, both of them came outside the court and shared the joy of settling the issue. Joy Mathew said that it was only an emotional problem between friends.
